The beginning of Art Gaze
The concept of Art Gaze began in 2006. James Cook University student Jak Henson recognised the growing need for a local art publication. With the guidance of the university, Jak Henson released the first issue in November 2007. The success of this issue lead to ongoing research and continuing production of Art Gaze.
Distribution
The quantity of copies printed has increased to 800 magazines / issue. In 2008, Art Gaze was published in March, July and November. Art Gaze is a seasonal magazine in 2009. Subscribers receive their copy by mail, and the remainder are available at most of Townsville's art galleries and newsagents. Art Gaze is also distributed to many of Townsville's coffee shops and selected motels.
