The beginning of Art Gaze
The concept of Art Gaze began in 2006. James Cook University student Jak Henson recognised the growing need for a local art publication. With the guidance of the university, Jak Henson released the first issue in November 2007. The success of this issue lead to ongoing research and continuing production of Art Gaze.
Distribution
As of Winter 2010, Art Gaze distributes 1200 copies each season to local art enthusiasts. This quantity has increased from 800 throughout 2008 and 2009, originally printing 400 copies in 2007.
Subscribers receive their copy by mail, and the remainder are available at most of Townsville's art galleries and newsagents. Art Gaze is also distributed to many of Townsville's coffee shops.

As only 1200 copies are printed, subscription ensures that each issue will be received. Subscription is free (within Australia) and available by the following:
